A daily capsule that pairs:
- Pasteurised Akkermansia muciniphila — the EU-authorised Novel Food strain.
- Freeze-dried European raspberries (Rubus idaeus) — a gentle source of ellagitannins.
- A standardised raspberry polyphenol extract — for a consistent polyphenol dose.
- Riboflavin (vitamin B2), which contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes — and the gut lining is one.

The science, in brief
Akkermansia muciniphila takes its name from its ability to live on mucin, the protein that forms the gut's protective mucus lining (Derrien et al., 2004). It has become a focus of gut-barrier and microbiome research, summarised in reviews in Nature Reviews Gastroenterology & Hepatology (Cani et al., 2022) and Nature Reviews Microbiology (Ioannou et al., 2025). Raspberry ellagitannins belong to the polyphenol family studied for the gut barrier, and the urolithin A they yield has been shown to support barrier integrity via the Nrf2 pathway (Singh et al., 2019).
Honest note: the raspberry-specific Akkermansia evidence is thinner than for our other berries; this pairing leans on the broader mucin-layer and ellagitannin story. More in the science hub.
How to take it
One capsule daily with water. Not suitable for children under 12, pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet.
