What it is

The everyday capsule of the range. Four ingredients, one a day:

  • Pasteurised Akkermansia muciniphila — the EU-authorised Novel Food strain.
  • Freeze-dried European raspberries (Rubus idaeus), a modest source of ellagitannins.
  • A standardised raspberry polyphenol extract, so the polyphenol dose is the same in every capsule.
  • Riboflavin (vitamin B2), which contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes.

The science, in brief

Akkermansia muciniphila was isolated at Wageningen in 2004 and named for what it does: it lives on mucin, the protein that forms the gut's protective mucus lining (Derrien et al., 2004). Since then it has become a fixture of gut-barrier and microbiome research, reviewed in Nature Reviews Gastroenterology & Hepatology (Cani et al., 2022) and again in Nature Reviews Microbiology (Ioannou et al., 2025). Raspberry ellagitannins belong to the polyphenol family studied in connection with the gut barrier, and in cell and mouse work the urolithin A they yield acted on barrier integrity through the Nrf2 pathway (Singh et al., 2019).

Honest note: the raspberry-specific Akkermansia evidence is thinner than for our other two. This pairing rests on the broader mucin-layer and ellagitannin literature. There is no raspberry trial. More in the science hub.

How to take it

One capsule daily with water. Not suitable for children under 12, pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet.
