It all starts in the gut

The colon is home to an ecosystem of more than a thousand bacterial species that supports digestion, the gut barrier, and the immune system. Beneficial bacteria feed on fermentable fibres — their preferred substrates, known as prebiotics. When given the right nourishment, they ferment these fibres and produce biologically active compounds known as postbiotics, which help nourish the intestinal wall.

Vekovia Microbiome Powder delivers these fibres in a full, effective dose — something capsules simply cannot provide in comparable amounts. It is complemented by polyphenols from cranberry and pomegranate to support the environment in which gut bacteria function.

Akkermansia muciniphila — a key bacterium for the gut environment

Akkermansia muciniphila lives within the mucus layer of the colon and is involved in its renewal, which is why it is often regarded as a guardian of the gut barrier. It is strictly anaerobic and difficult to cultivate, making direct supplementation as a live culture challenging.

A more practical approach is to provide the environment and nutrients that may support its presence. That is precisely what this powder is designed to do.

The ingredients

Chicory inulin — 12 g

One of the most extensively studied prebiotic fibres. It is fermented by beneficial bacteria in the colon and can promote their growth. At a daily intake of 12 g, chicory inulin contributes to normal bowel function by increasing stool frequency.

Partially hydrolysed guar gum (PHGG) — 3 g

A gentle, well-tolerated soluble fibre. It helps balance the formula and is particularly suitable for people with sensitive digestion or increased sensitivity to fermentable fibres.

Polyphenol blend: cranberry + pomegranate

Standardised polyphenols — including proanthocyanidins and ellagitannins — that reach the colon and support the environment in which beneficial bacteria thrive.

Vitamin C from rosehip, zinc and riboflavin

Three micronutrients with well-established physiological functions that complement the formula and support authorised health claims, listed below.

Directions for use

Mix 1 scoop (~5 g) into approximately 200 ml of water or juice, 3 times daily, or as directed on the label.

Changes in the gut microbiota take time. A regular intake period of at least 8 weeks is therefore a reasonable approach.
