Field notes
A little less jargon.
The words behind the formulas, in plain language.
- Microbiome
- A term used for a microbial community together with its genetic material and environment. On this site we are usually discussing the gut.
- Polyphenols
- A broad family of plant compounds. Cranberry, pomegranate and grape seed extracts contain different polyphenols; the plant name alone does not specify their amount.
- Fermentation
- The breakdown of certain substances by microorganisms. In the gut this can include the use of some dietary fibres; not every fibre behaves the same way.
- Inulin
- A soluble fibre; the Vekovia powder formulas specify chicory inulin. Microbiome Powder declares 12 g daily, Metabolic Powder 9 g. Raw-material specifications matter for health claims.
- PHGG
- Partially hydrolysed guar gum: a soluble fibre from guar. The two powders contain different daily quantities: 3 g in Microbiome Powder and 2 g in Metabolic Powder.
- Glucomannan
- A water-binding fibre from konjac, included in Metabolic Powder. Its use requires adequate fluid and specific precautions; see the complete formula warnings, not just this definition.
- Standardised extract
- An extract with a specified proportion of a named compound or group. A percentage describes composition; it does not by itself demonstrate a clinical effect.
- Daily intake
- The total amount for a whole day, which may be divided across several capsules or portions. An ingredient’s daily amount is not the weight of one capsule or scoop.

Not a four-step programme. Four different starting points. Compare the ingredients, daily quantities and precautions before choosing.
01A broader botanical formula
Microbiome Complex pairs cranberry, pomegranate and grape seed with oat beta-glucan. Four capsules; a focus on extracts rather than a large fibre serving.
Microbiome Complex ↗02A simpler fruit-extract routine
Cranberry & Pomegranate offers two standardised fruit extracts plus vitamin C and zinc. Two capsules; no declared fibre ingredient.
Cranberry & Pomegranate ↗03A daily fibre supplement
Microbiome Powder combines 12 g inulin with 3 g PHGG. Its focus is a measured fibre intake alongside food, with regularity research explained on the formula page.
Microbiome Powder ↗04Fibre within a weight-management plan
Metabolic Powder includes glucomannan for a different, pre-meal routine. The ingredient’s weight-loss claim has specific diet, portion and water conditions; final powder portions await validation.
